ADAM LEE

Adam Lee is a Scottish clarinettist, soloist, teacher, and composer. He is the Co-Principal Clarinet of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, having previously held the position of Principal Clarinet No. 2 with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
He regularly appears as Guest Principal with major orchestras across the UK, whilst as a soloist, he has performed concertos by Mozart, MacMillan, Grime, and Nielsen. His chamber collaborations have included performances at Wigmore Hall, the 1901 Arts Club, and festivals throughout the UK.
A graduate of both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal College of Music, Adam was awarded the RCM’s prestigious Tagore Gold Medal at the RCM, and the Principal’s Prize for Excellence at the RCS.
As a composer, Adam’s works have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and he has been commissioned by ensembles such as the Hyde Clarinet Quartet and Scottish Clarinet Choir.
Deeply committed to music education, he combines private teaching with regular masterclasses, ensemble coaching and educational outreach. He also serves as an Ambassador for the RCS Woodwind Department and as a Trustee of the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, supporting the next generation of young musicians.
